(August 18, 2015) We are sad to inform SoulTrackers of the death of singer/songwriter Danny Sembello.  The brother of "Maniac" singer Michael Sembello, Danny was found drowned in the Schuylkill River near Philadelphia.

Though not as famous as his brother Michael, Danny Sembello was a real talent in his own right. He wrote the Pointer Sisters' smash hit "Neutron Dance," Patti LaBelle's "Stir It Up" and songs for artists such as Chaka Khan, Monica, Jeffrey Osborne, Irene Cara and many more. He also had a great story of when he met Michael Jackson and played piano for him.

He also won a Grammy Award for his work on the movie soundtrack Beverly Hills Cop.

He was a talented artist who aided the careers of some of the biggest soul music singers of the past thirty years, and he will be missed. (You can see more about Danny Sembello at his friend Nick Mundy's Facebook page)
