(April 16, 2020) We are sorry to inform SoulTrackers of the death of noted Detroit singer Larry Griffin, founder of the popular R&B vocal group Serieux.

Serieux is a traditional soul vocal group that was founded in 1998 by Griffin, Valenica Taylor, Donovan Johnson (Musical Director) and Robert Grande (Road Manager) to recreate the style of classic soul groups like the Temptations, the Four Tops and the Manhattans.

Splitting their time principally between Detroit and Las Vegas, Serieux has opened for the likes of Earth, Wind and Fire, The Whispers and other major acts. They've also performed in a Motown Musical "Come and get these Memories" with Martha Reeves, were part of the play The Life of Sam Cooke, and played the Temptations in the play Marvin, My Brother - The Marvin Gaye Story.  They also toured the world with legendary vocalist Ali Woodson.

Serieux issued their first disc, I Can Give You Love, in 2007, featuring former Spinners and Temptations lead singer GC Cameron. And they've continued to perform regularly, though recently canceling shows due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Like so many soul music warriors who have passed during the quarantine period, Larry Griffin has been delivering musical pleasure to fans for many years, and he will be missed.
