(October 25, 2022) As someone who has been a part of the music and entertainment industry for many years, on occasion I come across people that inspire me to push myself even further, even through adversity. Whenever it gets too hard or I feel I may not have the gumption to push forward, explore and create more, reading and hearing other creatives stories and how they have overcome so much and are still able to soar and continue to excel in this industry, gives me inspiration and reminds me how far I have come and have to continue forward.

One of those people in the recent years has been national radio personality, Award Winning R&B Music Historian, published author and much more, Tyrone DuBose. I have been following Tyrone for quite some time, ever since I saw him on TV One’s “Unsung.” His history in this business is nothing short of spectacular in my opinion. Mr. DuBose has had life challenges (like so many of us) and still has had the amazing strength and determination to press forward with his dreams. I have had the pleasure of airing his show “Timeless Traxx” on my radio network for now the past four years and have developed a friendship with this wonderful soul.

Mr. DuBose’s resume is long and impressive and he is in no way done yet. I love watching his stories unfold and know that he is be a force to be reckoned with in this industry. He is a kind and gentle man who I am blessed to know and share my platform for his amazing show (he can be heard all over the world).

Tyrone is also a part of Sheryl Underwood Radio as a producer, announcer and, of course, personality. Tyrone contributes daily to the show and has come so far because of his sparkling personality and amazing talents, not afraid to stretch himself and reach unbelievable heights. Tyrone has proven his worth a thousand times over and inspires not only me, but up and coming creatives. One of the things I love about Tyrone is his kindness and willingness to speak and share his experiences in an effort to inspire and uplift others.

Tyrone recently released his book The Four Seasons of R&B Music: My Top Ten Picks of Singers & Groups from the 1960s through the 1990s. (Goodreads and Amazon) that is now a Best-Seller. Not to mention, Tyrone has been honored and award-winning for his work in music and as an voice over actor, most recently (October 2022) has won the Citril Starz Award for Best R&B Historian and Voice Over Artist. He is amazing (Oh did I say that already?).

If you are not familiar with the works of Mr. Tyrone DuBose, I urge you to get to know this extraordinary man, he is definitely one to watch. I am very proud of Tyrone and honored to have connected and become friends. Oh, I forgot to mention he is a fellow Ohioan (now residing in California).
