Friday's activities include a meet and greet with all performers scheduled for Saturday's huge concert. In addition there will be a tri-state artist showcase featuring: Tough Act from Philadelphia Pa., The Silver Stars from Newark NJ, The Set Band from Patterson NJ, Roz Shepherd from Brooklyn NY, J Most from Minneapolis MN., and much more. In another ballroom a comedy show will take place while a jazz combo will have smooth sounds in yet another ballroom. At midnight there will be a special performance by FORCE MD'S singing all their wonderful hits. For those who become inspired by the singing, a full bar with Karaoke is right on site as well. If patrons become hungry, a full complimentary buffet will be served during the evening. And lastly, for those just wishing to relax, the indoor pool and other amenities will be available free of charge
Saturday starts with a complimentary all you can eat buffet breakfast in two ballrooms with early morning singing from people who will amaze you. Breakfast will be followed by workshops on Financial and Estate Planning, Women Issues, Men Issues, Health Issues, and Travel and Tourism. Later in the afternoon line dance and salsa lessons will take place for those interested in the latest dance steps. Last years lessons had 180 participants. Trips to a local casino and shopping can also be arranged. Saturday at 4 PM is the official Semi Formal Dinner honoring Maurice Watts and many others from the music community including some surprises. One group being honored is the 60s group "The Invitations" who sang "They Say The Girls Crazy."
The actual feature concert starts at 7:30 on Saturday evening in the Fernwood Event Center featuring Russell Thompkins Jr. and the New Stylistics, Blue Magic, The Delfonics, Evelyn Champaign King, GQ, Eddie Holman, and Kurtis Blow. Saturday ends with another dance party in the Astor Ballroom. Sunday ends with gospel performances and a gospel play.
