There's always something new to celebrate when the Whispers sing their best known songs from four and a half decades of entertaining their loyal fans. This year, that celebration extends to the holidays as they ring in the season with Christmas With The Whispers, their highly anticipated new live DVD.
A dynamic follow-up to the quartet's popular 2007 DVD Live From Las Vegas, the unique video project is a joint venture between The Whispers' label Satin Tie and Vegas based Odds On Records, with worldwide distribution by Koch Entertainment Distribution.
Shot in full HD, Christmas With The Whispers was recorded in a studio in Los Angeles and features live renditions of beloved holiday classics and original Whispers songs from their two now-classic albums, Happy Holidays To You (1979) and Christmas Moments (1994).
The colorful set list includes songs the world knows and loves like "White Christmas," "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," "The Christmas Song," "My Favorite Things" and "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," in addition to several original pieces that are, for both the group and its listeners a true joy to revisit after nearly three decades: "Funky Christmas" and "This Time Of Year" From Happy Holidays To You.
The DVD also includes a performance of the gospel-flavored "I Sing This Song For You," from their 2006 CD For Your Ears Only-their first fully independent release (on their own label Satin Tie) after decades signed to major labels.
Christmas With The Whispers also includes some cool bonuses: behind the scenes interviews with the performers, interviews with fans and a special "Christmas memories" section featuring one on one interviews with each member of the group.
