Official Biography (courtesy of Teresa Jenee)

Soultronica...that's the genre. Teresa Jenee aka Jene Eklectic aka TJ...that's the artist.

A hit international single produced by Osunlade, a BET Centric Network blog write-up, rotation on STL's Hip-Hop/R&B FM station, major label courtship, being featured on SoulTrain.com, ThisIsRealMusic.com,...those are the accomplishments. And that just scratches the surface.

In just 3 short years, Teresa Jenee has shared the stage with such big-named soul and R&B artists including Eric Roberson, Anthony David, and even Solange Knowles. She's rocked stages in St. Louis, Nashville, Atlanta, North Carolina, and on campuses such as University of Missouri-Columbia, Webster University, and her alma mater Tennessee State University.  She has been nominated 2 years in a row by her city's Indie music newspaper, The Riverfront Times in St. Louis.  Last winter, she was even granted her rite of passage as an artist by performing at the world-renowned venues SOB's and Village Underground in New York City.

Not bad for a little rose from the concrete streets of Walnut Park in St. Louis, Missouri.  It's not as if she had much of a choice either; her father is a "sanging-guitar-strumming preacher man" and her mother used to lead sing for a soul band in the 70s before she found religion.  Raised up in such a musical environment around such gifted artists, it was here her gifts in music and performance art were nurtured and her affinity towards the keys and organ developed, honed and mastered.  In addition, so developed her musical range which was inspired by every one from Lonestar to Lauryn Hill, Elton John to Erykah Badu, The Clark Sisters, Kim Burell, and Coldplay. As a talented multi-instrumentalist, Teresa Jenee now plays four instruments; piano, organ, clarinet, and drums, in addition to being a gifted performer and having a voice that will make the strongest grown man fall to his knees and cry tears of joy AND pain.

Teresa Jenee released the The Ecklectic in August 2009, which is scheduled for re-release later this year.  She produced and wrote all 11 songs off of her project and composed 5 out of those 11.

The albums first offering from the album, "Freedom" is in rotation on her city's' Hip-hop/R&B station Hot 104.1FM and Indie station KDHX 88.1. The video for "Freedom" is buzzing throughout the blogosphere and can be viewed on sites such as YouTube and Vimeo.com.

The Eclectic is available for download on iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon.com, Lala.com, or you can purchase direct via http://www.teresajenee.bandcamp.com/
