Tramaine Hawkins began singing with the Edwin Hawkins Group, in 1968. She pursued a solo career shortly thereafter and has released many albums since that time. Now, Ms. Hawkins has returned with a "redeux" of some of her 1976 Hits plus some exciting new material on her latest CD compilation release, "Praise & Worship." This CD is part of a praise and worship series featuring some of the biggest gospel stars in the world.
Some of the traditional sounds come from songs like "Excellent Lord", "Goin' Up Yonder", "Amazing Grace" and "Worship Medley" (Live), which Tramaine sings in the old hymn style. You can feel the majesty and the power of her voice in these selections. There is another live medley with the songs "Come Holy Spirit," and "Worship You," but the previous medley is the stronger of the two.
