Yewande's engaging eyes and stylistic look get the point across early that she's not an ordinary artist, and her 5-song debut EP, Evolution, is anything but run of the mill. The deep voiced, theatrical singer really mixes it up on the disc, though she clearly shows her affection for rock as a backdrop for her soulful sounds. Moving among styles that range from the funky electric soul of "Satisfied" to the Santana-like Latin rock of "Paranoid," Yewande displays herself as a talented young artist who isn't afraid to take chances. I'm looking forward to hearing a full album from her.
