Mount Holly, New Jersey native Lydia Rene was a prodigy whose parents exposed her to a myriad of genres including classical, jazz, gospel and rock.  She quickly developed her own musicianship performing in her school's jazz band as a pianist, in the marching band as a bass drummer and xylophone player, and as co-captain of the drumline at the competition level, taking home the "Woody Herman Award for Excellence in Jazz."

Lydia continued her love of music behind the scenes while studying fashion at Philadelphia University.  And she took that training and parlayed it into a debut album in 2008 called My Love IS My Life.

Lydia is now back with her sophomore album, Vintage Heart, and it shows an artist maturing into her own sound. And that begins with the album’s first single, the very nice 80s-style midtempo, “Feels So Nice (Wasting Time).” Lydia tells us about the song: "Feels So Nice is slowly becoming my new favorite song because it's one of the only songs on the album that I wrote about my current relationship. Both of us are in the entertainment industry and it’s very rare that we can sit down next to each other on a Saturday and just relax. Often times as young professionals we work hard but forget to play hard and it's really important to carve out that downtime for the one you love."
