Every so often, a real gem slips by us. We’ve recently featured singer-songwriter Kevin Ross in a First Listen and stumbled quite by accident on this other little “diamond” of his from 3 years ago. It takes a very brave vocalist to cover any track that the great Donny Hathaway recorded; almost anyone, however skilled, would be diminished by comparison. But not Kevin.
Accompanying himself on piano, Kevin wows us with his incredible vocal range, feel, and nuance on this cover of “A Song for You.” Prepare yourself for greatness.
