Artist Biography

One of the most important artists of the past two decades, Mary J. Blige has epitomized the merger of hip-hop and soul, and has garnered both uniform critical acclaim and commercial success.  She's been nominated for over two dozen Grammy Awards and has won six.  From her Puffy-produced debut single "What's The 411?" to her landmark, aptly titled album, The Breakthrough, she has developed into a musical legend for the 21st Century.

In 2007, Blige followed up The Breakthrough with the compelling album Growing Pains. In 2009, she released Stronger With Each Tear, another critically acclaimed disc.
