(September 23, 2016) It's a fast and furious world out there: tweeting, texting, instant messaging and skipping ahead to the next new thing. Being current is fine but sometimes folks need to slow down and savor the moment, which is what Kevin Ross is crooning about in his mellow mid-tempo single, "Long Song Away."

An Atlanta transplant by way of DC/Maryland, Ross grew up idolizing one of Motown's first solo icons, Stevie Wonder, and has already worked with Usher, Akon and Jamie Foxx. The Awakening, his upcoming CD, brims with autobiographical lyrics and a desire to recalibrate Motown's fabled hit-machine approach with a modern twist. "Long Song Away" could have been a lightweight pop confection, but Kevin's earnest, yet emotive tenor and pleas to build a budding romance one moment at a time----"I know we live in the now, but we can set our own pace/take my hand, and we can slow dance......forever is a long song away"----both engages the listener in the present and hints at a bright future ahead.
